Taking the step to book your first Botox appointment can feel daunting — not because of the treatment itself, but because of the sheer amount of information (and misinformation) available online. At Le Pearl, we believe that an informed client is a confident client, so we've put together this comprehensive guide to demystify the experience from start to finish.
Before Your Appointment
In the days leading up to your appointment, we recommend avoiding blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E — as these can increase the risk of bruising. You should also avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment.
Arrive with a clean face if possible, and come prepared with any questions you'd like to ask during your consultation. There are no silly questions — understanding the treatment fully is part of the process.
The Consultation
Every Botox appointment at Le Pearl begins with a thorough consultation. Your specialist will assess your facial anatomy, discuss your aesthetic goals, review your medical history, and photograph the areas to be treated. This is your opportunity to share what you'd like to improve and ask about realistic outcomes.
The Treatment
The actual Botox injections take between 15 and 30 minutes. A fine needle is used to administer small amounts of Botulinum Toxin into targeted facial muscles. Most clients describe the sensation as a mild pinch — no anaesthetic is required, though a topical numbing cream can be applied if you prefer.
What to Expect Afterwards
You may notice small bumps at the injection sites immediately after treatment — these resolve within 20–30 minutes. Mild redness is also normal. You can return to your normal activities straight away, though we advise avoiding exercise, alcohol, and lying down for the first 4 hours.
Results begin to appear within 3–7 days as the muscles gradually relax, with full results visible by day 14. We include a complimentary review appointment to assess your results and make any minor adjustments if needed.
